Red Cross Sends Home Workers Because of Dean's Changed Path

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The American Red Cross says emergency workers that planned to assemble in Little Rock in case Hurricane Dean struck the Texas coast have been sent home.

The organization says the teams left Little Rock because Dean's projected path was headed toward Mexico, rather than Texas.

Teams that were headed to Little Rock were being told that the staging was canceled.

About 100 teams from 26 states had planned to meet in Little Rock to respond to the massive storm churning through the Gulf of Mexico.
