ASU to Get Share of $9 Million Federal Science Grant

JONESBORO, AR - The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority has received a $9 million federal grant to boost research in high-tech fields of study.

The grant, awarded by the National Science Foundation, will establish the Arkansas Advancing and Supporting Science, Engineering and Technology Initiative.  The money will be shared by Arkansas State University, and the University of Arkansas's campuses at Fayetteville and Little Rock.

An ASU official says the school will use its money to do research examining agriculture, energy, environment and health.
