JONESBORO-With the ribbon cut, Replay Toys finally has a home in Jonesboro.
"I'm real excited. I think it will be a good thing. Kids that can't normally afford toys, well they can here," said owner, Lavonda Barnes.
The road to a grand opening has been a long one for her.
Just days before the toy store was set to open in May on Main Street, a drunk driver crashed into the store causing thousands of dollars in damage.
After months of waiting, Barnes finally found Replay Toys a new home.
"The second week in July we came in and cleaned it, started painting it, putting shelving in, and still buying toys. My sister and I, along with some friends, started putting it together, and here we are," said Barnes.
Their new location located at 625 Gee Street is also unique, and specially designed for the kids.
"We made a dance floor for the kids, and there is a stage for Replay the Dog to dance on with the children. We have the café. We can seat 26 people. We serve hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, cokes, and ice-cream," said Barnes.
It's a child's paradise, per say, and with mascot Replay the Dog on hand to keep everyone entertained, Barnes says she thinks this was a good move.
We are told Replay the Dog will be on hand every saturday to entertain kids, while they and their parents shop.
If you would like to visit Replay Toys, their new location is at 625 Gee Street.
They will be open Tuesday through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily.
