Lawmakers to Join Governor in Calling for Bush to Support Program's Renewal

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Members of Arkansas' congressional delegation apparently share Governor Beebe's belief that the state really needs the State Children's Health Program renewed.  Beebe will be joined in a news conference today at Little Rock by members of the U.S. House and Senate, calling for President Bush to press for passage of the measure in Congress.

Arkansas officials say the state uses money from the program for three programs in Arkansas...ARKids First, which provides health care for children in low-income families...ARHealthNet, which extends coverage to workers at small businesses that don't offer insurance, and prenatal care for pregnant immigrant women who are not eligible for Medicaid.
