JONESBORO, AR - With more than a month having passed since any significant precipitation fell in the Jonesboro area, some much-needed rain that fell this afternoon was sweet relief for many. But unfortunately, with it came some storm damage and minor flooding.
Strong straightline winds arrived in parts of Jonesboro with the rain, and resulted in downed trees and signs in at least three locations inside the city limits.
Strong winds blew a tree down on the ASU campus, where it fell across two cars. Another tree has been reported down on Flint Street, and a billboard was reportedly damaged on Southwest Drive. There have also been reports of flooded streets in some parts of town.
