Lake City to Get Share of $1.4 Million for Migrant Health Clinic

LAKE CITY, AR - About $1.4 million in federal grants has been awarded to open community health clinics in Arkansas at Mount Ida, Lake City and Bentonville.

Community Health Centers of Arkansas, a nonprofit organization, also was awarded another $80,000 from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration to develop plans for a health center in Lincoln County.

The three new clinics bring the state's total to 58 operated-by-the-community health centers.  The centers provide primary medical care to people on a sliding cost scale.

The clinic at Lake City will be a Migrant/Community Health Center, with an emphasis on serving season farmworkers.  The clinic will employ additional bilingual staff to work with migrant workers.
