Beebe, Legislators to be Honored at ASU-Memphis Game

JONESBORO, AR - Arkansas State University will conduct its annual Legislative Day activities Saturday on the Jonesboro campus, in cooperation with the football team's home opener against rival Memphis.

Governor Mike Beebe, a 1968 ASU alum and former member of the school's Board of Trustees, will be the university's special guest.  "This year, we will honor Governor Beebe, a true friend to the university and a great leader of the state of Arkansas," said ASU system president Dr. Les Wyatt.

Beebe, a northeast Arkansas (Jackson Co.) native, will be recognized during an afternoon luncheon for legislators and state officials, and again at the football game.

"Legislative Day represents a special time to express our thanks and appreciation to those with whom we have the opportunity to work and serve," added Wyatt.

ASU officials are anticipating a crowd of at least 25,000 for the ASU-Memphis game, which begins at 6 p.m. at Indian Stadium.
