UA Reports $100 Million Gain in Endowments

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - The University of Arkansas says its endowment holdings have grown more than $100 million over the past year.

The university says the endowment rose to $877 million by the June 30 close of the fiscal year.  A year earlier, the endowment was $763 million.

Vice chancellor G. David Gearhart says the increase included private gifts and gains in the stock market.

Gearhart says the university is on pace to reach Chancellor John A. White's goal of achieving a $1 billion endowment by 2010.
