Rice Plant at Little Rock Port to Bring 200 New Jobs

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Los Angeles-based company announced plans yesterday to build a $20 million rice plant at the Little Rock port.  The announcement by Sage V Foods is expected to result in 200 new jobs.

Sage V Foods says it will build a $100,000-square-foot plant and will begin with 60 to 100 workers.  The Little Rock plant will produce quick-frozen rice dishes for restaurants and retailers.

The company says it plans to break ground in October and hopes to be open by the end of next year.  Sage V Foods already has a rice flour mill in Stuttgart.
