Are You an AOL User, Not Receiving Your Personal Forecast Emails?


How often should I be getting daily forecast emails?

Your weather team generally sends out messages twice a day. You may have elected to receive both, only one, or none at all. If you're not sure how frequently you elected to receive them, check your profile by clicking your Settings button on your personal forecast page. This is an important first step, because you need to know this to assess if you are getting your daily forecast emails on a regular basis.

Why aren't I receiving my daily forecast emails on a regular basis?

It has been brought to our attention that there may be issues with the delivery of personal forecast email to AOL or Compuserve addresses (, Apparently, during times of high e-mail traffic, AOL may identify the personal forecast emails that we send out as being "bulk" e-mail and not deliver some of them. No notification is given to either the sender or the recipient when this happens. Unfortunately, this possible loss of personal forecast emails sent to AOL addresses is out of our control.

How is this problem being addressed?

We are contacting AOL and trying to work with them regarding this issue. We have not been given any indication from AOL if or when this may be resolved. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue visit your personal forecast page.

Is there a way I can get around this problem?

Because the dropped e-mail problem appears to affect only viewers with AOL/Compuserve accounts (or those domains that use AOL to process their e-mail), there are a number of things you can do.

  1. If you have a second email account that is not AOL, change your personal forecast email settings to use that account.

  2. If you don't have a second e-mail account you can get one through various free services such as or Once you have your new account, change your personal forecast settings to use this new address.

Remember, you do not have to re-subscribe to change your personal forecast e-mail address.
