FORREST CITY, AR - Police in Forrest City say fake $20 bills have turned up at two area businesses. Investigators say they expect more of the phony bills are in circulation.
One of the fake bills was passed at a Wal-Mart and the other at a Sonic Drive-In.
Forrest City Interim Police Chief Dwight Duch says businesses need to keep an eye out for more of the phony currency. He says any businesses spotting a counterfeit bill should call police immediately...preferably while the person passing the counterfeit is still in the store.
Duch urges anyone who may have information on the counterfeit bills to contact authorities.
In June of 2005, Forrest City police arrested at least three men involved in a counterfeit ring.
