Jonesboro Homes Flooded in Wednesday Afternoon Downpour

JONESBORO, AR - Some Jonesboro residents are drying out this morning after heavy rains led to flash flooding that damaged as many as 20 homes in the city.

The Jonesboro Police and Fire departments were called out to the Windsor Landing subdivision after receiving two reports of small explosions.  Police say gasoline cans stored in garages were overturned by rising water, and the vapor from the gas was ignited by hot water heaters.  No one was injured in the explosions.

Meanwhile, city crews are expected to be out this morning to assess damage and rainfall amounts.
