Jim R. Burton has practiced law in Jonesboro since 1977. In 1992, the firm opened a branch office in the Hardy / Cherokee Village area to serve North Central Arkansas.
Burton is a 1971 honor graduate of Arkansas State University. He recieved his masters degree from the University of Memphis and law degree from the University of Arkansas.
Burton served two terms as Jonesboro City Attorney. He is a member and former board member of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. Locally, Burton is a member of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce Highway Committee, the Salvation Army board, the Arkansas Good Roads Transportation Council, the Jonesboro Rotary Club, Jonesboro Unlimited and as former vice-chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party. Jim also provides election commentary on KAIT.
