Health Officials to Discuss Reducing Risk of SIDS

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas health officials want parents to know there are measures they can take to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.  The state Health Dept. is conducting demonstrations at the Child Development Center in Little Rock on how to put a baby back to sleep to reduce the risk of SIDS.

According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the rate of SIDS among black and American Indian babies is at least twice the rate as that of white babies.  The Health Department is mounting a statewide campaign to reduce SIDS, in conjunction with a national campaign.
