Doniphan School Evacuated Following another Bomb Threat

DONIPHAN, MO - The campus at Doniphan Middle School was evacuated for a time this afternoon after the word "bomb" was discovered written on a bathroom stall.

According to a release from the school district, the school's "main building" was evacuated while police and school administrators "thoroughly searched classrooms and lockers."  No explosive device was found, and school administrators say they "believe this to be a copycat event in response to the incident that occured last Monday on the middle school campus."  A similar incident last week led to classes being canceled for two days in the district.  Last Friday evening, the school district held a public town meeting to discuss recent threats and concerns at the school.

According to a statement from the school, "The students and staff are to be commended for their courtesy and cooperation during the evaluation and search.  The building is safe.  School will be in session Wednesday on a regular schedule."
