Bomb Threat at Pocahontas Prompts Early Dismissal

POCAHONTAS, AR - The Pocahontas School District today became the second Region 8 school district to be affected by a bomb threat.

A spokeswoman for the Pocahontas Police Dept. says the a threat at Pocahontas High School was reported between 12 and 12:30 p.m., and said it was a similar threat as to what has been happening as recently as this morning in the Doniphan (MO) School District, where threats have been found written on bathroom walls.

The police spokeswoman says the high school campus was evacuated and is currently being searched by authorities, and classes throughout the entire district have been dismissed for the rest of the day.
