Jonesboro Attorney Named to New Post at ASU

JONESBORO, AR - Lucinda McDaniel of Jonesboro will be the top lawyer for Arkansas State University, the first time the school has put an attorney on its staff.  The school announced today that ASU Presidente Les Wyatt has named McDaniel to serve as general counsel.  She will join the ASU system office staff on January 1.

McDaniel will provide legal services and counsel to all of the campuses associated with the ASU system, including Beebe, Mountain Home, Newport, Searcy, Heber Springs, Paragould and Marked Tree.

Wyatt said McDaniel had worked with ASU for several years as the university's attorney, through an arrangement with her law firm...Womack, Landis, Phelps, McNeill and McDaniel.

A native of Jonesboro, McDaniel has served as president of the Craighead County Bar Association, a member of the executive committee of the Arkansas Bar Association, and president of the Arkansas Associatoin of Defense Counsel.
