Father of Slain Memphis Player Praying for Assailant

NASHVILLE, TN - The father of a slain University of Memphis football player says he's praying for his son's assailant.

Jimmy Bradford, father of Taylor Bradford, told a Nashville TV station that there are some mean people in the world but they are in his prayers nonetheless.

The younger Bradford, of Nashville, was shot to death on the U of M campus Sunday night.  A motive has not been announced and no one has been arrested.

Jimmy Bradford described his son as a stranger to no one, and loved by everybody.

The father said the Memphis win over Marshall University on Tuesday meant a great deal to the family.  Taylor Bradford was a reserve defensive lineman for the Tigers, and a moment of silence was observed in his honor and memory before the Marshall game.

Jimmy Bradford said his son's presence was at the game at Liberty Bowl Stadium.

Services for the 21-year-old Bradford will be Saturday afternoon in Nashville.
