Beebe Sets Execution Date for Man Convicted in 1990 Slaying

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Beebe has set a November execution date for a death-row inmate, even though the U.S. Supreme Court soon will hear a case of challenging lethal injection, the same method used in Arkansas.

Beebe set a Nov. 8 execution date for 44-year-old Don Davis, who was convicted in the 1990 execution-style slaying of a Rogers woman.  Beebe said earlier this week the state normally would move forward on executions and wait for "the stays that inevitably come from the judicial proceeding."
