More Charges Filed Against Former Bootheel Teacher's Aid

STEELE, MO - Additional charges have been filed against a 51-year-old Pemiscot County man, stemming from an on-going investigation that began nearly a month ago.

Pemiscot County sheriff's deputies arrested Michael Willard Smith of Braggadocio on September 14 after a student in the Steele-based South Pemiscot School District revealed information concerning a teacher's aide in the district being sexually active with some students in the school.

Smith was originally charged with one count of statutory sodomy and one count of deviate sexual assault.  Yesterday, two additional counts of statutory sodomy were filed against the suspect.
