Randolph Jury Sends Man to Prison for Life Plus 174 Years

POCAHONTAS - A Randolph County Circuit Court jury has sentenced 46 year old John Reginal Rohrbach of Ravenden Springs to life plus 174 years in prison.  Rohrbach was charged with sexual assault in the second degree and terroristic threatening in the first degree.

The case involved the rape of a child who is now eight years old.  The jury heard testimony from the defendant's own daughter who was raped by Rohrbach in the 1980's according to Prosecutor Henry Boyce.  Rohrbach plead guilty to raping his own daughter and was sentenced in 1990.

Boyce said, "It is safe to say this Randolph County jury was determined to not take a chance that this man would reoffend."
