Greene County Paramedic Says He's Seeing Fewer Farm-Related Injuries

PARAGOULD, AR - Farming accidents and injuries still occur and can be deadly but northeast Arkansas paramedic Barry Alderson says medics are seeing fewer injuries.

He says farmers now are better educated about safety and are more safety conscious.  In addition, there are fewer farm laborers and fewer people running farm equipment.  The number one accident he sees on farms are tractors tipping over.  He says it's very important that others on the farm know how to operate the equipment because medics unfamiliar with the machinery could do more harm in trying to respond to an accident without help from someone familiar with the machinery.
