Arkansas Woman Holds National Title in Rooster Crowing

CONWAY, AR - A champion is a champion, whatever the event, and Arkansas has a new national winner right in the small Faulkner County community of McGintytown.  She's 24-year-old Ann Thompson.

Thompson competed in the national rooster crowing contest at the World Chicken Festival in London, Kentucky, recently, and took home the title.  The crowd went crazy when she cockadoodle-dooed.

Thompson says she learned how to crow in trying to teach a rooster she had who for some reason couldn't.  Thompson says she might take a shot at the World Human Crowing Championship next summer in Rogue River, Oregon.
