More Arkansas Guardsmen Return Home

LAWTON, OK - Some 200 Arkansas Army National Guard troops have returned home after a yearlong deployment in Iraq.

A homecoming ceremony was held yesterday at Fort Sill for troops of 2nd Battalion, 142nd Field Artillery.

Colonel Richard C. Longo, assistant commandant of the Field Artillery School and deputy commander of Fort Sill, welcomed back the soldiers.  They performed security duty in Iraq.

Longo told the troops that "even in the dark I could see the spark, the gleam in your eye of men who have served their nation."

As the returning soldiers marched into the Rinehart Physical Fitness Center, Yvonne Dfrost of Fayetteville was waving a welcome-home sign for "Eric, Chris and Aaron."

She is the wife of B Battery commander Captain Eric Dfrost, who deployed with his son, Spc. Chris Dfrost of Rogers and stepson, Specialist Aaron McNeil of Conway.
