MEMPHIS, TN - Police said two women looking for clay for a pottery project found human remains in a Shelby County state park.
The women found the remains last week near an old boat ramp in Meeman-Shelby Forest State State Park, which borders the Mississippi River.
Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, said the remains were the lower jaw bone of a human.
It was unclear whether the bone came from a woman or a man and whether the bone may have washed up there from another location.
Cadaver dogs searched the area, but nothing more was found.
