Police Search For Man Who Robbed Liberty Bank

Craighead County-

Jonesboro Police say a man robbed the Liberty Bank on Matthews around 5 p.m. Monday.

They say the man walked up to the bank's drive-thru, threatened the teller with a weapon and then walked away with cash in hand.

"The individual walked up to the drive-thru window and there was a vehicle parked there," said Lt. Rick Elliot of the Jonesboro Police Department.  "He said he had a gun and he would use it and then demanded money."

Police don't know at this time just how much money the robber walked away with. No one was hurt in the robbery.

Witnesses include a few workers who were inside the bank at the time.

Jonesboro police say they're looking at a possible suspect.

"He's a black male, approximately 6-2 ft., 150-180 pounds and was wearing a long-sleeve jersey type shirt that had the word SOUTH POLE. There were some other words in the middle that we're not sure on just yet," said Elliot.
