Renovated Arkansas Capitol Visitor Center Debuts

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Visitors to the Arkansas' state Capitol will now be greeted by sketches of what architects originally envisioned for the historic building.

A banner displaying the 1899 sketch by architect George Mann is one of the features of the redesigned Capitol Visitor Center that debuted yesterday.  The renovated visitor center now includes a touch-screen computer that visitors can use to access information about the Capitol and state government.

The $542,000 renovation also included an expansion of the Capitol gift shop and a business center featuring free wireless Internet.  Work began on the visitor center renovation in April.
