Ruby Tuesday Gets Liquor Permit

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Another Jonesboro restaurant can soon be added to the growing list of dining establishments in the city where liquor can be served.

The board of the Alcohol Beverage Control Commission met this afternoon in Little Rock to hear the appeal the Jonesboro franchise of Ruby Tuesday.  Two months ago, ABC Director Michael Langley of Paragould denied the request, which is typically a part of the routine procedure whenever there is any formal opposition to a permit request.

This afternoon, the panel overturned Langley's original ruling on a 4-1 vote.

Ruby Tuesday is located at 2915 Kazi Drive, and is part of a national chain of restaurants that specialize in traditional American cuisine, such as steaks and burgers.  The Jonesboro franchise becomes the 20th establishment in dry Craighead County to obtain a private club liquor permit.

The Ruby Tuesday appeal was originally scheduled to be heard last month by the ABC panel, but that hearing was postponed at the request of the restaurant's management.
