Forrest City Woman Sentenced to 20 Years in Stabbing Death of Ex-Husband

FORREST CITY, AR - A Forrest City woman accused in the February stabbing death of an elderly Madison man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Authorities say 41-year-old Janice Fay Jordan pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder in the death of 83-year-old Walter Gibbs.

Jordan was originally charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery in Gibbs' death, but prosecutors dropped those charges as part of the plea agreement.

Gibbs was Jordan's ex-husband.  Authorities say Gibbs was stabbed in the chest during an argument over money.
