Missouri Gets New Prison System Director

JEFFERSON CITY, MO - Missouri has a new prison director.

The Department of Corrections says Tom Clements has been appointed director of the Division of Adult Institutions.  Clements will oversee Missouri's 21 correctional facilities and about 8,000 employees.

Clements has been with the department for more than 28 years.

He began as a probation and parole officer in St. Louis in 1979.  For the past eight years, he has served as a deputy division director in charge of seven of Missouri's correctional centers.
