Cherokee Village Earns Certification as an Arkansas Community of Excellence

CHEROKEE VILLAGE, AR - Cherokee Village was certified as an Arkansas Community of Excellence at a ceremony held this morning at City Hall.  Governor Mike Beebe presented the ACE certificates to Cherokee Village Mayor Lloyd Hefley and Cyril Bertram, chairperson of the city's ACE committee.

ACE is the cornerstone of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission's community development efforts.  ACE helps communities develop a strategic plan that focuses on economic growth by expanding the local economy and enhancing quality of life for residents.

The city's leaders addressed a variety of community issues, including beautification, tourism, commercial development, business retention and expansion, animal control, fire protection and health care.
