Ross Bill Would Provide Excess FEMA Trailers

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A bill sponsored by Congressman Mike Ross would allow FEMA to provide trailers and other rescue equipment for emergencies that are too small to qualify for a federal disaster declaration.

Ross says FEMA has the equipment, and the demand for the rescue supplies is there.

Ross pointed out the tornado that cut a swath through Dumas earlier this year.  Ross says it took 13 days to get 30 FEMA mobile homes delivered to Dumas from Hope.  FEMA maintains thousands of trailers in storage at the Hope Airport.

Ross is a Democrat who represents the 4th District in south Arkansas.  The district includes both Hope and Dumas.
