Utah Fugitive Arrested in Dexter on Child Rape Charge

DEXTER, MO - A man considered to be one of Utah's most-wanted fugitives has been arrested in southeast Missouri, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Raymond Trotter was arrested Monday in Dexter on warrants issued in Utah charging him with the rape of a child, sodomy of a child and forcible sexual assault.  The alleged offenses occured over a period of several years with a victim under the age of 13.  Trotter was originally arrested on the charges in 2002, but fled the state after posting bond and had remained on the run until his arrest this week.  Authorities say the suspect had been staying with family in the Dexter area.

Trotter is currently being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail pending extradition to Utah.
