Police Catch Bandit Quickly After Downtown Bank Robbery

JONESBORO, AR - Just minutes after a man attempted to rob a downtown Jonesboro bank this morning, he was already in police custody.

Police say 52-year-old Nathaniel Lacy of Jonesboro robbed the BancorpSouth branch at Main and Jefferson streets at approximately 9:45 this morning.  A short time later, the JPD had the suspect in custody.  Police say Lacy has a lengthy criminal record.

Lacy was arraigned in Craighead County District Court in Jonesboro this afternoon, and apparently fainted during the court procedings.  He was taken by ambulance to a Jonesboro hospital, where his condition is not known at this time.
