Dover Police to Become "Marshals"

DOVER, AR - Residents in Dover will soon find out if the marshals always get their man.

Mayor Alan Bradley says the city's 10-member police department will soon be re-named the "City Marshall's Office."  The change comes as the mayor, himself a sergeant with the Russellville Police Department, wants to provide an old-time atmosphere in Dover, the seat of Pope County in the 1800s.

Bradley says a "prototype" police car in the city has received the new moniker.  The mayor says the marshals will receive new uniforms and badges in the future as well.
