JONESBORO - An early morning workplace shooting at a Jonesboro industry has left one man in a local hospital.
Around six thirty Wednesday morning Jonesboro police responded to employee calls about a man with a gun.
Capt. Lynn Waterworth with the JPD gave this statement. "Officers were called out to Delta Manufacturing this morning. Employees reported there was a man inside with a handgun officers got here most of the employees had evacuated outside."
Police were told that the employee was inside the building near a break area, the police then entered the building to try and talk to the man.
Waterworth, "at which point the man turned the weapon on himself. He was transported by ambulance from here to st. Bernards."
Police have released the name of the shooter. He is identified as 49-year old Randall Hannah of Jonesboro.
Police did say that Hannah did not fire any shots before turning the gun on himself.
Waterworth,"No one else was injured, no one else was wounded, no other rounds fired that we're aware of."
Plant officals accompanied by police searched the building and made a head count of all employees to make sure all were accounted for.
Hannah remains in Critical Condition at the St. Bernards ICU.
