UCA Passed Over for Presidential Debate

CONWAY, AR - The University of Central Arkansas will not be the site of a presidential or vice presidential debate in 2008.

In May, the Conway campus entertained officials from the Commission on Presidential Debates in hopes of hosting one of four debates scheduled for next year.

On Monday, the Commission announced its picks: The University of Mississippi in Oxford and Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee will host presidential debates, while Washington University in St. Louis and Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, will host the vice presidential debates.

The backup sites are Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
