Three Craighead County Properties Considered for Nomination to National Historic Register

JONESBORO, AR - The State Review Board of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will consider three Craighead County properties for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places when it meets next month.

They include the Community Center #1 in Jonesboro, the First National Bank building in Monette and the Monette water tower.

Community Center #1 is now known as the Earl Bell Community Center, and is located on Church Street.  The building was constructed in 1936 and reflects the art deco style of architecture.

The FNB building in Monette was built in 1918 and reflects the classic revival style of architecture.  The Monette water tower was built in 1936 as part of a Public Works Administration project.
