Man Receives 45-Year Sentence in Trooper's Death

UNION, MO - The subject of a 2005 manhunt was sentenced to 45 years in prison in the death of a Missouri state trooper who crashed his car while heading to the search.

Massigh Stallmann of High Ridge was convicted in July of second-degree murder and nine other felonies related to the April 2005 incident.

Prosecutors say Stallman broke into a store and robbed a woman who lived above it in Mount Sterling.

Trooper Ralph Tatioan was called to join in a search for Stallman but crashed his car on the way.

Stallman's lawyer says he plans to appeal.
