Arkansas PSC Chairman Heading to Iraq with Guard Unit

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The chairman of the state's Public Service Commission is taking military leave to deploy to Iraq with the Arkansas National Guard.

Governor Beebe announced yesterday that Paul Suskie will deploy with the 39th Infantry Brigade on its upcoming mission to Iraq.  The governor named former judge David Newbern to serve as an interim member of the commission during Suskie's absence.

Suskie, a member of the JAG Corps, served a tour in Afghanistan in 2005.  PSC member Colette Honorable will serve as interim chair while Suskie is in Iraq.
