Jonesboro Couple Gives $1.75 Million for New Chancellor's Home at UA-F

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - The 11,500-square-foot, $2.77 million new chancellor's residence at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville is nearly done.

Chancellor John A. White and his wife, Mary Lib White, are expected to move in next April into the home overlooking Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and the towers of Old Main.  The new home was paid for entirely with private donations, as are the furnishings.

University officials say the house will serve as both the chancellor's home and a place to entertain important guests.

Wallace and Jama Fowler of Jonesboro gave $1.75 million for the home, which will be named for them.

The Fowlers are also the benefactors of The Fowler Center, a multi-purpose fine arts facility on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
