SeMo Authorities to Announce Changes in Five Cold Cases

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - Authorities in southeast Missouri say they've solved five killings, all of which happened 25 to 30 years ago.

Police and the Cape Girardeau County prosecutor's office planned a 2 p.m. news conference to announce charges.  Neither would disclose the suspect's name prior to the news conference.

Police Chief Carl Kinnison says the suspect is serving time in prison on unrelated charges, and was connected to the crimes by DNA evidence.

The crimes happened from 1977 to 1982, all in Cape Girardeau, about 100 miles south of St. Louis.  All five victims were women, ranging from a 21-year-old college student to a 65-year-old.
