Large Marijuana Bust Made in Searcy

Searcy - A traffic stop Friday afternoon ended with a Memphis man in jail and a 143 pounds of marijuana in the hands of the White County Sheriff's Department.

According to White County Sheriff's Department Corporal Gregy Coney, the driver, 37 year old Louis Henderson of Memphis was arrested after the discovery of pot was made.  He was pulled over on Beebe-Capps Highway in Searcy.  Officers found the suspected marijuana in the truck of his car.

Henderson is in jail on a $100,000 bond for intent to deliver an illegal drug.  This is the second largest marijuana discovery in the department's history.  In June, officers discovered 330 pounds during a bust.  The Arkansas State Police, the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force, and the Searcy Police Department also helped in the investigation.
