Beebe: State Needs to Ensure Health Coverage for Uninsured

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Mike Beebe says the state needs to look at ways to provide health care to those caught without private insurance, saying the state can't wait for a nationwide fix.

Beebe stopped short of saying the state needs a universal health care plan, such as one developed in Massachusetts.

The governor's remarks came as he attended the first meeting of his Roundtable on Health Care, which gathered at the state Capitol.  The board will examine ways to improve access to health care in the state.
