Racing Commission Approves Extra Dog Races in West Memphis

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas Racing Commission has approved adding dog races at Southland Park in West Memphis.

The panel on Thursday approved the request from the track, which says the additional races will appeal to an after-work crowd.  Southland has undergone a $40 million expansion to add nearly 1,000 electronic games of skill.

The expanded live racing will be featured on Mondays and Wednesdays, when Southland will run a 20-race card starting at 4 p.m., which will replace a 13-race doubleheader.  The track will add two races on Thursday and Friday evenings and on both Saturday cards.
