Arkansas Tourism Boat Gets Heave-Ho for Annual Inspection

HOT SPRINGS, AR - Talk about heavy lifting.  D&E Housemoving lifts the Belle of Hot Springs out of Lake Hamilton each year for a routine U.S. Coast Guard inspection.

The all-metal, riverboat-style vessel that caters to tourists weighs 160 tons, or about 320,000 pounds...three times what a typical house would weigh.

D&E usually pulls the boat out on a ramp, but this year the ramps were under mud because of a drawdown on the lake.  Still, D&E expects to have the boat out of the water by inspection time tomorrow.
