Humane Society Rescues more than 40 Dogs from Bootheel Veterinarian

KENNETT, MO - The Humane Society of Missouri on Friday rescued more than 40 dogs believed to be endangered on a property owned by a licensed veterinarian near Kennett.  The Dunklin County Sheriff's Dept. assisted in the raid, serving a warrant to have the animals removed.

The animals are believed to be poodles, cocker spaniels and cockapoos and several other mixed breeds.  According to the Humane Society, many of the animals have severely matted hair, and eye infections.

The rescued animals were taken to the Humane Society's facilities in St. Louis for treatment.  Prior to their rescue, they were reported to be in the possession of Dr. Johnson Wilson.
