FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Governor Beebe has awarded $4 million to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville for research in nanotechnology. The money comes from the state's capital improvement fund. University Chancellor John White says the campus will use the money toward a central building for its nanoscientists to work more closely together.
Nanoscience researchers in fields including engineering, physics, chemistry, biology and computer technology study materials at the molecular and atomic levels. The scientists study how the particles assemble themselves or respond to manipulation. The goal is to design superior medicines, chemicals. fuels, and electronic devices.
