The Honorable Rob Mayer

Senator, District 25

State Capitol Building, Room 331

Jefferson City, MO   65101

RE:  Caruthersville School District #18

Dear Senator Mayer:

In April, 2006 Caruthersville and Pemiscot County suffered a devastating tornado.  Gradually, the citizens of Caruthersville and Pemiscot County have worked diligently to recover from the effects of this tornado.

One tremendous problem faced by the City of Caruthersville that also impacts Pemiscot County is the Middle School and the High School have not been able to move forward in repairs.  The school administration is going to need additional funding in and above the assistance of FEMA, SEMA and the insurance payments.

We would appreciate your assistance and support of legislation for financial aid for the Caruthersville School District #18.  A no interest loan in the amount of $5,000,000 repayable over a twenty year term with the proceeds coming from the Missouri Lottery Commission would be greatly appreciated by the citizens of the Caruthersville School District and the community.

Your assistance and support is essential for the survival of the Caruthersville School District.

Respectfully yours,

Signature:  __________________________
