Animals Perish in Vet Clinic Fire at Blytheville

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (AP) - A Blytheville fire official says a blaze at a veterinarian's clinic just north of the Blytheville city limits has claimed the lives of about 40 animals.  Blytheville Fire Dept. Captain Rex Wilhite said the fire at Dr. B.R. Cato's clinic began a little after 1 a.m. this morning.

Wilhite said the building was fully aflame when firefighters arrived and trucks were on the scene for about four hours.

Cato's clinic provides medical services to small and large animals.
